در جهان پرآشوب امروز، صداهایی هستند که فراتر از مرزها، زبان‌ها و سیاست‌ها، پیام مشترکی را به دل‌ها می‌رسانند: پیام انسانیت. یکی از این صداهای ماندگار، بی‌تردید، صدای فرهاد دریاست؛ هنرمندی که نه‌تنها موسیقی را به ابزار عشق و آگاهی بدل کرده، بلکه با منش و کردار خود، الگوی یک انسان متعهد و مسئول باقی مانده است.
به عنوان رسانه‌ای که رسالت خود را بازتاب صدای مردم و ثبت چهره‌های الهام‌بخش می‌داند، افتخار داریم که در این مقاله، نگاهی دوباره به زندگی، مسیر هنری، و کنش‌گری اجتماعی فرهاد دریا بیندازیم؛ مردی که صلح را می‌خوانَد، امید را می‌نوازد و ریشه در دردهای مردم خود دارد.

فرهاد دریا، با نام کامل فرهاد نصرتی، در شهریور ۱۳۴۱ در کابل متولد شد؛ در خانواده‌ای فرهنگی از قوم تاجیک. از کودکی به موسیقی علاقه داشت و نواختن پیانو و کیبورد را آغاز کرد. تحصیلات دانشگاهی‌اش را در دانشکده هنرهای زیبای کابل گذراند و خیلی زود به عنوان عضو گروه گلبانگ، وارد دنیای حرفه‌ای موسیقی شد.
دهه‌ی ۱۹۸۰ برای فرهاد دوره آغاز تجربه‌های مستقل موسیقایی بود؛ او با تلفیق موسیقی سنتی افغانستان و سبک‌های مدرن، صدایی نو به جامعه هنری آورد. اما جنگ و ناامنی، او را نیز مانند بسیاری دیگر به مهاجرت واداشت. در آمریکا، هم به تحصیل موسیقی ادامه داد و هم آثار تازه‌ای منتشر کرد؛ از جمله آلبوم‌های موفق Salaam Afghanistan و Darya که به‌ویژه در میان مهاجران افغان و فارسی‌زبانان محبوبیت زیادی یافتند. ترانه‌ی Salaam Afghanistan که پس از سقوط طالبان منتشر شد، به نماد بازگشت زندگی به افغانستان تبدیل گشت.
اما دریا، فقط صدای موسیقی نبود. او در کنار هنرش، به یکی از چهره‌های فعال اجتماعی تبدیل شد؛ با پذیرش عنوان سفیر حسن‌نیت سازمان ملل در افغانستان، فعالیت‌هایی گسترده در حوزه‌های آموزش، صلح، حقوق زنان و حمایت از کودکان کار انجام داد. کنسرت‌هایش در شهرهایی چون هرات، مزار شریف و قندهار، پیام‌آور صلح و همبستگی ملی بودند.
ویژگی برجسته دریا، چندزبانگی و چندفرهنگی‌بودن آثارش است. او با اجرای ترانه‌هایی به زبان‌های فارسی، پشتو، ازبکی و دری، تصویر وحدت و احترام به تنوع قومی را در موسیقی افغانستان ترسیم کرده است. همچنین بهره‌گیری از اشعار مولانا، حافظ و خیام، عمق معنایی آثارش را دوچندان کرده است.
فرهاد دریا در سال‌های اخیر بارها مورد تقدیر قرار گرفته؛ از دریافت جایزه بین‌المللی صلح در موسیقی در سال ۲۰۱۰ گرفته تا حضور در فهرست تأثیرگذارترین شخصیت‌های فرهنگی افغانستان. حضورش در محافل جهانی، همواره با صدای مردم رنج‌دیده همراه بوده است.
فرهاد دریا تنها یک هنرمند نیست؛ او پیام‌آور صلح و صدای نسل‌هایی است که در طوفان تاریخ، به دنبال امید بوده‌اند. صدای او همچنان از بلندگوهای دنیا شنیده می‌شود؛ آوایی که از درد برخاسته، اما در دل، ایمان به فردا را زنده نگه داشته است.

In today’s turbulent world, there are voices that transcend borders, languages, and politics to carry a simple yet powerful message: humanity. One of those rare voices belongs to Farhad Darya — an artist who has turned music into a vessel for compassion, awareness, and unity.

Farhad Darya, born Farhad Nusraty in September 1962 in Kabul, was raised in a culturally rich Tajik family. He displayed a passion for music from a young age, learning to play the piano and keyboard. He pursued formal studies in music at Kabul University's Faculty of Fine Arts and soon became a member of the innovative band Gulbang, marking his entry into Afghanistan’s professional music scene.
The 1980s marked the beginning of his solo career, where he fused Afghan traditional music with modern pop and rock styles. His refreshing sound quickly gained popularity among Afghan youth. But as conflict engulfed the country, Farhad,like many others,was forced to leave Afghanistan. He settled in the United States, continuing his musical education while releasing some of his most influential albums, including Salaam Afghanistan and Darya, both of which resonated strongly with the Afghan diaspora and audiences at home. The track Salaam Afghanistan, released after the fall of the Taliban, became a national symbol of rebirth and resilience.
But Farhad Darya’s influence goes far beyond music. As a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, he has played an active role in promoting education, peace, and women’s rights, while supporting street children and victims of war. His concerts in cities like Herat, Mazar-i-Sharif, and Kandahar have served as messages of unity and healing in a fractured nation.
His multilingual performances , in Dari, Pashto, Uzbek, and Farsi ,reflect his deep commitment to Afghanistan’s cultural diversity. He often draws on the poetry of Rumi, Hafez, and Khayyam, enriching his music with spiritual and literary depth.
Over the years, Darya has been widely recognized and celebrated: from winning the 2010 International Music for Peace Award to being listed among Afghanistan’s most influential cultural figures. His presence on global stages has consistently represented the voice of Afghanistan’s people.
Farhad Darya is more than a performer ,he is a symbol of peace, a voice for generations seeking hope amidst the storms of history. His songs continue to echo from speakers around the world, carrying a message born of pain yet rooted in belief in a brighter future.
