ایران تنها نیست؛ استرالیا با موج همبستگی علیه سرکوب به پا خاست
در روزهایی که صدای معترضان در ایران با گلوله و زندان پاسخ داده میشود، آنسوی دنیا هزاران ایرانی در استرالیا سکوت را شکستند و خیابانها را به تریبون اعتراض تبدیل کردند؛ اعتراضی نه فقط علیه یک حکومت، بلکه برای دفاع از جان انسانها.

در هفتههای اخیر، تقریباً تمامی شهرهای مهم استرالیا شاهد تجمعها و راهپیماییهای اعتراضی ایرانیان مقیم این کشور علیه حکومت ایران بودهاند؛ از سیدنی، ملبورن و کانبرا گرفته تا بریزبن، پرت، آدلاید، هوبارت و داروین. این تجمعها با حضور هزاران ایرانی و شهروندان استرالیایی حامی حقوق بشر برگزار شد و به یکی از گستردهترین موجهای همبستگی جامعه ایرانی در خارج از کشور تبدیل شده است.
ایرانیان استرالیا، که سالهاست بهعنوان یکی از فعالترین، تحصیلکردهترین و منسجمترین جوامع مهاجر در این کشور شناخته میشوند، بار دیگر نشان دادند که تنها یک جامعه مهاجر نیستند، بلکه یک نیروی اجتماعی آگاه، مسئول و متعهد به سرنوشت مردم خود به شمار میآیند. حضور مداوم، منظم و مسالمتآمیز آنها در خیابانها، نه از سر هیجان مقطعی، بلکه نتیجه سالها دغدغه، آگاهی و پیگیری مستمر مسائل ایران است.
همزمان با این اعتراضها، نخستوزیر استرالیا در موضعی رسمی اعلام کرد که دولت این کشور «در کنار مردم ایران» ایستاده و نسبت به سرکوب خشونتبار معترضان، بازداشتهای گسترده و قطع ارتباطات در ایران ابراز نگرانی جدی کرد. او تأکید کرد که حق اعتراض مسالمتآمیز و آزادی بیان از اصول بنیادین حقوق بشر است و جامعه جهانی نمیتواند در برابر نقض سیستماتیک این حقوق سکوت کند.
در ادامه این موضعگیری، شماری از نمایندگان مجلس فدرال و سنای استرالیا نیز با صدور بیانیهها و اظهارنظرهای جداگانه، حمایت خود را از مردم ایران اعلام کردند و خواستار پاسخگویی مسئولان جمهوری اسلامی در قبال سرکوب معترضان شدند.
در سطح بینالمللی نیز، دولت استرالیا به همراه شماری از کشورهای غربی، از جمله کانادا و کشورهای عضو اتحادیه اروپا، بیانیههایی در محکومیت خشونت علیه معترضان صادر کردند. همچنین شورای حقوق بشر سازمان ملل با برگزاری نشست اضطراری، بر لزوم مستندسازی نقض حقوق بشر در ایران و پیگیری مسئولان این سرکوبها تأکید کرد.
نهادهای حقوق بشری مانند عفو بینالملل و دیدهبان حقوق بشر نیز با انتشار گزارشهای متعدد، از کشتهشدن معترضان، بازداشتهای گسترده، شکنجه، تهدید خانوادهها و قطع اینترنت خبر دادهاند و خواستار اقدام فوری جامعه جهانی شدهاند.
در میان همه این واکنشها، نقش ایرانیان استرالیا برجستهتر از همیشه است. جامعهای که با وجود تفاوت دیدگاهها، گرایشها و پیشینهها، توانسته حول یک محور مشترک به وحدت برسد: دفاع از جان انسانها و کرامت مردم ایران. این وحدت، سرمایهای بیبدیل است؛ سرمایهای که نه با شعار، بلکه با حضور واقعی در خیابانها، گفتگو با رسانهها، سازماندهی مدنی و ارتباط با نهادهای رسمی شکل گرفته است.
امروز بیش از هر زمان دیگری روشن است که وحدت میان ایرانیان، چه در داخل و چه در خارج از کشور، یک ضرورت حیاتی است نه یک انتخاب سیاسی. در شرایطی که سرکوب، ترس و سانسور بر فضای ایران سایه انداخته، همبستگی ایرانیان خارج از کشور میتواند هم صدای رساتری برای جهان باشد و هم پشتیبانی روانی و اجتماعی برای مردمی که در سختترین روزهای تاریخ معاصر خود ایستادهاند.
استرالیا این روزها فقط محل زندگی ایرانیان نیست؛
به یکی از گستردهترین جبهههای جهانی حمایت از مردم ایران تبدیل شده است.

Iran Is Not Alone: Australia Rises in Solidarity Against Repression
At a time when the voices of protesters in Iran are being met with bullets and prison cells, on the other side of the world thousands of Iranians in Australia have broken the silence and turned the streets into platforms of protest — a protest not only against a government, but in defence of human lives.

In recent weeks, almost all major Australian cities have witnessed demonstrations and rallies by Iranian communities protesting against the Iranian government — from Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra to Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart and Darwin. These gatherings, attended by thousands of Iranians as well as Australian supporters of human rights, have become one of the most widespread waves of solidarity by the Iranian diaspora in recent years.
Iranians in Australia, long recognised as one of the most active, educated and organised migrant communities in the country, have once again shown that they are not merely a migrant group, but a socially conscious, responsible and committed force deeply connected to the fate of their people. Their continuous, organised and peaceful presence in the streets is not the result of short-term emotions, but of years of awareness, concern and sustained engagement with the situation in Iran.
At the same time, the Prime Minister of Australia, in an official statement, declared that his government “stands with the people of Iran” and expressed serious concern over the violent repression of protesters, mass arrests and the shutdown of communications in the country. He emphasised that the right to peaceful protest and freedom of expression are fundamental human rights, and that the international community cannot remain silent in the face of systematic violations of these principles.
Following this position, a number of federal MPs and Senators also issued separate statements supporting the Iranian people and calling for accountability from the Islamic Republic for its actions against protesters.
At the international level, Australia, alongside several Western countries including Canada and members of the European Union, released statements condemning the violence against demonstrators. The United Nations Human Rights Council also held an emergency session, stressing the importance of documenting human rights violations in Iran and pursuing those responsible for the repression.
Human rights organisations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have published numerous reports detailing the killing of protesters, widespread arrests, torture, intimidation of families and the disruption of internet access, and have called for urgent action by the global community.
Among all these responses, the role of Iranians in Australia stands out more than ever. A community that, despite differences in views, ideologies and backgrounds, has managed to unite around one shared principle: the defence of human life and dignity in Iran. This unity is a priceless asset — one built not through slogans, but through real presence in the streets, engagement with media, civil organisation and ongoing communication with official institutions.
Today, more than ever, it is clear that unity among Iranians, both inside and outside the country, is a vital necessity rather than a political choice. At a time when repression, fear and censorship dominate Iran, solidarity from the diaspora can serve both as a stronger voice to the world and as psychological and social support for a population enduring one of the most difficult periods in its modern history.
Australia is no longer just a place where Iranians live;
it has become one of the largest global fronts in support of the people of Iran.
