Mahour Rajabi, an athlete who endured years of neglect, indifference, and unfulfilled promises, now stands as one of the most prominent figures in Iranian darts. Her journey has never been easy or accompanied by support, yet with remarkable determination, she shattered the silence and claimed the top podium in Iran.

The Beginning: From Neglect to the First Championship

Born in 1988, Mahour Rajabi entered professional darts in 2018. Only six months later, she won her first national Open Ranking title—an achievement that marks the peak for many athletes, but for her, it was merely the beginning of a long path filled with effort, inequality, and silence from those around her.

During her years competing for Tehran, despite winning five consecutive championships in tournaments held in the UAE, she received no recognition, no support, and not even a simple acknowledgment. Her victories passed in complete silence, revealing how difficult her journey would be.

Shining in Tehran: Great Victories, Minimal Support

Joining the Tehran team in 2021 became a turning point. In the same year, Mahour:

• Won the national singles title

• Earned the doubles title

• Won a mixed medal

• Played a key role in leading Tehran to the national team championship

Yet behind these victories lay a different story: promises of appreciation and support were never fulfilled.

In 2023, she shone once again—winning the national doubles title, the four-player lineup championship, and once again playing a decisive role in Tehran’s success. Still, the promises remained empty, and the silence continued.

National Team Membership: Honor Without Participation

For two consecutive years, Mahour Rajabi was selected for Iran’s national darts team—a hard-earned honor. However:

• The 2023 Denmark championship was cancelled due to political visa issues

• The 2024 Chinese Taipei championship was also cancelled for the same reason

Despite official promises that athletes would be offered an alternative international tournament, nothing materialized—not even a symbolic gesture of consolation. It was yet another example of the lack of support for one of Iran’s top athletes.

Return to South Khorasan: Renewed Effort, Little Support

After several years, Mahour returned to South Khorasan, hoping for acknowledgment and support. But the pattern repeated itself. Over the past year she:

• Won four major titles

• Secured 4th place in the national team event for Tabas

Still, she received little recognition. Without access to a proper training hall, she practiced at home just as she had in the past. Only after her own persistence did a few local media outlets cover her achievements.

A New Achievement: Runner-Up for Razavi Khorasan

Mahour also earned a significant runner-up title for Razavi Khorasan. “I have many such runner-up results,” she says—but none have stopped her from pushing forward.

28 November 2025: The Day Mahour Became Iran’s Absolute Champion

At the 20th National Women’s Darts Championship, with 126 athletes from 30 provinces, Mahour delivered an exceptional performance:

• She became the national champion of Iran

• Defeated Zeynab Zare from Yazd 4–0 in the final

• Won the gold medal for South Khorasan

A province she still hopes will recognize and value its champion.

A Victory for the People, Not the Officials

Mahour dedicated her championship first to her family, and then to the warm-hearted people of her hometown—those who always supported her, unlike the officials.

Her goal remains clear: to one day raise Iran’s flag at international competitions.

Mahour Rajabi: A Symbol of a Generation That Refuses to Give Up

Mahour Rajabi is more than a successful athlete. She represents a generation that:

• Does not fall with neglect

• Does not stop with discrimination

• Does not fade with indifference

A generation that, when unsupported, creates its own path—proving that championship comes from determination, not permission.

Today, after years of silence, home-based training, broken promises, and hard realities behind the scenes, Mahour Rajabi stands at the summit of women’s darts in Iran.
